If you need to disconnect the battery to flat tow your Chevrolet Blazer, you're going to want this kit. It disconnects your battery with the push of a button - much safer and faster than doing it yourself - while keeping your towing accessories charged.

This is a really nice kit for remote battery disconnection.Everything needed was included and instructions were clear.
I used it on our 2026 Trailblazer. It took a little trim work on the battery post cover but nothing major. I bought some plastic push pins and used them to mount the solenoid to the wiper linkage cover.
Typical Roadmaster high quality parts.
Took some planning on my 2025 Chevy Colorado. Thankfully etrailer had a video for an installation on a 2024 GMC Canyon which is identical mechanically. Their video showed cutting the factory battery cable connector to the battery post in half to make connections to the 2 solenoid cables. I just could not bring myself to doing that on a brand new vehicle. I looked for an alternative and found on Amazon a battery post adapter that has 4 posts for connecting various 12v lines. Since I have other components for my tow setup that will need power I decided this would be a good solution. Happy I did it. The original cable remains in tact in case I ever want to remove the solenoid. The install was easy, just took some time to figure out the best way to route everything in such a small engine compartment. On the Colorado when the power is restored, some sensors initially show an error, but after a few minutes everything returned to normal. This will really be a time saver during connects/disconnects for towing.
I just mounted this battery disconnect switch in a 2021 Ford Edge ST 2.7L to be able to tow the Edge flat. Even with the transmission park lock disabled, the vehicle's parking brake will engage if it senses motion. Ford's instructions are to remove the negative battery cable before recreational towing. That is not at all practical with this vehicle. The RM disconnect seems pretty robust, and I was lucky that the switch was in the "off" position so that I did not have any sparking while I was reconnecting the battery that was removed to run the small cable through the firewall to the switch. The etrailer installation video was very helpful. Now, why not 5 stars - first, I have not yet tried moving the Edge with the battery disconnect in the on position. More pertinent, though, is that Roadmaster's instructions are terrible and the packaging is not much better. It arrived in a box with the only thing not loose in the box was the hardware and the switch. The instructions show both big red battery cables as being labeled, but there was only ONE label and it was loose in the box. Fortunately the instructions (and also electrical/mechanical sense) showed which cable connects to the battery and which one connects to the vehicle battery cable. The instructions also say to use the two included bolts and nuts to mount the solenoid, but on the 2021 Edge, the only place to mount into metal was the engine side of the shock absorber mount. There is no way to access the ends of bolts to put nuts on.
Fortunately RM also included hefty self-tapping sheet metal screws that are not mentioned in the instructions - those are what I used to securely mount the solenoid. The only alternative choices I could find where mechanical disconnect switches that seemed to be more cumbersome and not as robustly made. I hope that this electronically activated switch will be more convenient and will hold up over time.
Excellent product, not as difficult to install as I first thought just had to fabricate a bracket for my 2024 Canyon. Great service from trailer also. Arrived on the date they said which is great considering I am in the eastern most part of Canada.

So happy to hear that, John! An on-time delivery is about as exciting as one that is early-especially since it seems like things are delayed all the time haha. Which province are you from?
There's a reason I by my towing accessories from Etrailer.
You guys KNOW your products and applications for us buyers.
Thanks Crew.
I had a little difficulty finding a good location for the solenoid, but finally found a spot on the radiator bulkhead. Since the photo was taken, I have added silicone boots over all of the solenoid connections.

Works great.

Need thin wrenches to hold the inner nuts. Needed to cut the positive battery cable clamp to make the cable work.
I highly recommend this battery disconnect for the 2024 GMC Sierra Denali 1500. The electronic parking brake requires the battery to be disconnected while flat towing. GM should have made the vehicle software to not apply the brake when in Tow-mode, this makes it easy to accomplish removing battery power. I mounted the solenoid inside the passenger front quarter panel near the battery to keep the power cables as short as possible. The solenoid must be installed in the vertical position. I chose to mount the actuator button inside just above the OBD-II port under the steering column. Easy access from the driver seat but not visible or in a place that could be accidentally pushed. If you frequently flat tow the GMC/Chevy with electronic parking brakes, this is a must have!
The battery disconnect installation instructions were clear and the installation went well in my 2018 Chevrolet Colorado ... in spite of the kit missing a few pieces like a second star washer for connecting the two battery cables and the second piece of protective tubing. I covered the exposed energized solenoid terminals with electrical tape to prevent an potential inadvertent short in the future when working under the hood. Works as designed so far.

I towed the Colorado from Maine to Arizona last winter and the battery disconnect worked well for the entire trip. It made preparing the truck for towing and driving very easy!
I received the Roadmaster remote battery disconnect in a timely manner and had it installed in my 2016 Chevy Colorado by a local RV dealer. I used it for the first time this week and it worked like a charm. I didn't lose any of my preset radio stations or any other data that I know of. Pushing a button on the dash is a lot easier than disconnecting and reconnecting battery cables.

Still working just fine.
This works great and is much better than removing the battery ground each time.

It has worked flawlessly and makes the process of towing and connecting much easier. This was a Great purchase.
I installed this item, along with the whole towing package. Turned the key and nothing! Checked all the connections then got my volt meter out. Voltage seemed OK but continuity was all wrong. After double checking the wiring diagram, I discovered the battery cables were labeled backwards! Re-connected according to the diagram instead of labels and everything works great.
Used this a few times nice disconnect k it
The RM-766 is a solid piece of hardware and comes with absolutely everything required for the install, right down to the "Tow" and "Drive" stickers for the switch. I use it to disconnect the battery in my 2016 Ford Edge 3.5L AWD, to help make it flat towable behind my RV. It works great and I do not have to open the hood and mess with battery cables while travelling. I like it.

Awesome! I'll make sure that Zachary sees your review :)
Fast shipping and fair price.
Works like a charm for a long storage vehicle that has a parasitic battery drain.
Works as it should. Thanks for the install video
Easy to install. Works great !!
This battery disconnect is awesome. With just one push of the button it disconnects your positive post. Another push and it is reconnected. I installed this on a 2023 Trail Blaze and one other time on a 2023 Chevrolet Colorado Pickup.
The battery disconnect is a game changer in towing behind our RV. No need to disconnect a battery cable every time we hook up the towed vehicle. A push of the button and the battery is disconnected. Product was shipped direct to our installer in a timely manner. Price was fair.
Product appears to be well built.

A year later and the battery disconnect relay continues to operate flawlessly.

I have a 2014 Silverado that I wanted to tow with my RV. In order to tow GM calls for the battery to be disconnected. This was the only product that I fond that would do what I wanted. It is slightly over priced in my opinion but it does the job. I have attached it to my aftermarket air box and ran the switch under the hood release. This way I can use the remote to unlock the doors when I am ready to unhook.
Fairly easy install. Routing the wiring is the most time consuming part. I would've liked to have had heat shrink terminals sent instead of just crimp terminals but overall its a great product so far!
(Also, I would recommend using a brown wire to link the lighting together in the rear as opposed to the white wire that is recommended in the instructional video, to keep everything clear for anyone who may work on it in the future)
This battery disconnect has performed well for us. It is installed on a 2023 GMC Sierra and makes hookup much easier. Gives me peace of mind know that that the electronic parking brakes cannot activate while towing. Instructions for installation we excellent.
